Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Cate Blanchett, Carey Mulligan and Rachel Weisz, gathered in California last night for the annual AMPAS Governors Awards. But it was the more mature stars who stole the red carpet, proving how honed-to-perfection their style is after years of practice.

Dame Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep and Jane Fonda all proved that age is just a number as they showed off their sartorial prowess at the glam gala.

Meanwhile, new mums Carey Mulligan and Zooey Deschanel showed off their enviable post-pregnancy bodies while Rooney Mara opted to wear a slightly unexpected ensemble.
