Helen George shares behind-the-scenes snaps from Trixie's wedding
Helen George shared behind-the-scenes snaps from a very special Call the Midwife episode.
The star posted a selection of snaps to Instagram from the filming of her character, Trixie, getting married.
In the first image, she stands in character in her wedding look alongside Olly Rix, who plays her groom, Matthew Aylward.
Other images show Olly waiting in the wings at the church in his wedding suit, along with the cast taking their seats along the pews, while crew members stand in the aisle.
Helen George can also be seen waiting outside the church holding her bouquet, while the production crew finish zipping her wedding dress. Behind, the camera team prepare to begin shooting.
In a caption alongside the behind-the-scenes shots Helen wrote: "My cup runneth over. What an amazing 12 years and counting."
Helen's character Trixie has become a cornerstone of Call the Midwife and viewers were delighted to finally see her marry Matthew and find happiness.
Many fans left messages of support in the comments section of Helen's post, sharing their feelings after watching the milestone episode for Trixie.
"Never been so happy for a fictional character in my life. I cried the whole episode," wrote one viewer.
"I have literally sobbed throughout the episode. I loved the scene where you had the moment saying goodbye to your bedroom at nonnatus house. So moving. Have watched every episode made. It’s the best programme on tv. Thank you," wrote another fan of the show.
