Helen Flanagan has dropped a major hint that she could be set to make her return to Coronation Street – six years after she said goodbye to her time on the cobbles.

Back in 2000, 33 year old Helen rose to fame when she took on the role of Rosie Webster, having taken over from previous cast member Emma Collinge. However, having played Rosie on and off for almost two decades, the soap star was last seen on Coronation Street in 2018 after going on maternity leave.

But now it seems that Helen could reprise her role on the hit ITV show after the mum-of-three shared a series of throwback pictures from her time playing Rosie.

In an Instagram post uploaded on Wednesday, 3 July, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star posted an assortment of snaps from her time on screen, including one of her with her on-screen parents Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) and Sally Webster (Sally Dynevor).

Captioning the five photos, Helen, who is on the hunt for love on the this year's series of E4's Celebs Go Dating, wrote: “Some iconic Rosie moments @coronationstreet” alongside a laughing face and heart emoji.

In response to the upload, Helen’s fans as well as her former co-stars gushed over her time on the soap – and many expressed their desire to see Rosie on our screens once again.

“She shall be back,” wrote Jack P Shepherd, who is known for playing David Platt on the ITV soap. In response, Helen joked: “Does Rosie finally get with David xxx”.

Meanwhile, another Instagram user wrote: “I hope Rosie and Sophie return at some point. Corrie needs a bit of fun again.” A third added: “Is this a sign you are coming back!!? You are my fav character!!”

The post comes after Helen opened up about the reason she gave up acting and how, as the mum to Matilda, Delilah and Charlie, returning to the soap would be difficult while looking after her three children.

Speaking to The Sun in October 2013, she explained: “I would honestly love love love to go back [to Corrie] so much but I’m just so busy with the children, so I’ve got an eight year old, five year old and a two year old and because me and their daddy has separated and he lives five hours away with his work, it’s quite difficult with the balance.”

She added that people may not realise how long days on set to be, stating that she’d sometimes leave the house at 5am and not return home until 9pm.

“For me, when you’re a mum you have to put your children first, and I would love to go back but I think right now it wouldn’t be fair on them,” she revealed.
