Hear'Say star Danny Foster unrecognisable 23 years since chart-topping hit amid huge career change
Back in the noughties Danny Foster was a familiar face for lovers of pop music up and down the country. As one fifth of the group Hear'Say alongside Kym Marsh, Myleene Klass, Suzanne Shaw and Noel Sullivan, Danny was known for hits including Pure and Simple, The Way to Your Love and Everybody.
After forming on the ITV show Popstars in 2001, the group secured four UK Top 40 singles and their debut album went straight to the top of the charts. Sadly the group split up in 2002, less than two years after rising to fame. In a statement, the group’s record label Polydor said the group felt “they had lost the support of the public and Hear'Say had come to a natural end”.
More than two decades since catapulting into the limelight, Danny, 45, looks unrecognisable. These days, Danny can be found on Instagram where he shares videoting to yoga, mindfulness and gratitude.

In addition to being a talented vocalist, the Pure and Simple hitmaker teaches meditation online and has shared a series of reels of himself meditating and even created his own meditation club. Under one of the videos, bandmate Suzanne showed her support and wrote: “so amazing you are sharing your knowledge!”.
Elsewhere, Danny also still works within the music industry and created the soul revue show Danny Foster & The Big Soul Corporation with wife Victoria, who he married in 2016. Together the pair, alongside their talented team, have spent the past decade entertaining audiences with songs from the likes of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and The Temptations.
Meanwhile, back in 2013 Danny appeared on The Voice where he attempted to woo coaches Jessie J, Tom Jones, Will.i.Am and Danny O’Donoghue with a rendition of Spice Girls’ Wannabe. Unfortunately none of the judges chose to turn their chairs around for him.
“You sing really well and I understand what you were trying to do but it just didn’t come together for me,” said Tom as he attributed the song choice for his decision not to turn around. “I didn’t turn around because it was good but it wasn’t amazing,” explained Jessie J. “I thought the track was a little bit karaoke. That was why I didn’t turn,” added Danny.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the show, Danny explained his reasons for taking part. “I didn't fancy eating kangaroo testicles in the jungle,” he said. “I've been waiting for a talent show that was based on singing.”
