Sometimes people struggle to get protein into their diet or they’re simply not eating enough of it.

Protein is a fundamental component of every cell in the body and essential for growth and development. It's a key part of building and repairing tissue, bones, muscles, skin and much more.

A dietician has shared a simple recipe for making a high protein muffin using just three ingredients - and children love it. Abbey Sharp, who hails from Canada, shared how you can get more protein into your diet without overloading on the likes of chicken and fish.

In fact, her recipe is a sweet treat fit for all the family. She detailed the simple guide to creating the scrummy treat on social media.

In a recent TikTok video, Abbey said: “This high protein muffin hack is going to change your life. Three ingredients, baby!”

The registered dietitian then shared her secret ingredients: a box of protein pancake mix, Greek yogurt, and milk. Abbey used almond milk, but she explained that you can use any dairy or non-dairy milk of your choosing.

Preparation takes no time at all and cooking will only take ten minutes. Abbey explained: “These little cuties have three and a half grams of protein each, so make a huge batch every week, and I also put them in the kids’ lunch. You’re welcome.”

Abbey’s video has already been viewed over 28,600 times. Betsy suggested: “Add vanilla & almond extract. Really bumps them up! (and helps hide any little odd texture from not having eggs).”

Neetu said, “These look fun. Going to try them with blueberries,” while @isopod wrote, “No because I eat all of those immediately.”

So if you’re looking for a simple recipe that can help you pack a protein punch, here is what you’ll need to do.
