'I hate the baby name my cousin picked out – her son sounds like cartoon character'
Baby name tastes are totally subjective – while some like to stick to tradition, others hope their little ones stand out from the crowd.
But going down the unique route can spark problems – including people disapproving of your child's name. And that's exactly what happened recently.
An anonymous Redditor took to the social media forum to discuss a moniker her family member had picked out. She had concerns about the name sounding like it was from a cartoon.

They said: "My mum's cousin named her child Boots and I can't stop thinking about it. It's been years since I've seen these family members, but I was watching a video and it reminded me. She named her son Boots, and everyone in the family was talking about how cute it was because his sisters nickname is Hatty (her name is Harriet.)"
The name Boots is far from conventional – and some of you might associate it with the monkey sidekick in Dora the Explorer. And judging by the reaction on Reddit, opinions on the name are very split.
Commenting on the moniker, one user laughed: "That kid was made for walking. And that's just what they'll do..." Another asked: "You can name your kid anything and then have 'boots' as the nickname. What's happening?"
Meanwhile, others said they associate the name Boots with pets. A third wrote: "Boots was a dog on my dad's side of the family". And another argued: "That's a cat's name."
