'Harry and Meghan welcomed by kindly' country if forced to quit US – they won't return to Britain

The Duke of Sussex's controversial memoir Spare rocked the Royal Family with its many shocking claims - but it seems it could also land Prince Harry in hot water.

After writing in the book that he had used cocaine, marijuana and magic mushrooms in the past, questions were asked about whether Harry had declared this previous recreational drug use on his visa application when he relocated to the US.

The Heritage Foundation, a Washington-based think tank, is in the process of suing the US government for access to Prince Harry’s immigration records, stating that it is ‘a case about whether the government provides special treatment for high profile celebrities’.

The foundation is referring to the paperwork the prince filed when he landed in the US on 14 March, 2020 as most people arriving in America must answer questions related to whether they have ever used recreational drugs.

This situation could prompt new worries for Prince Harry as former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!: "Harry must regret having been so frank about drugs in his book. It really wasn’t a necessary part of the narrative although I understand that he was trying to explain his mental health issues."

Jennie added: "But admissions like that can have consequences and, right now, he must be feeling the heat. I think he’s fine as long as the Biden administration continues to back him. But things could be very different if Trump became president again.

"In the end, though, I can’t imagine that the USA would actually throw him out. Lawyers would find some way around it, I think. But it must be an unnecessary worry and embarrassment for Harry at the moment.

"I suppose if the worst came to the worst, they would have to find somewhere else to live but I doubt that it would be the UK. Perhaps Canada would look kindly on them. But I don’t think it will come to that."

The comments come after royal expert Duncan Larcombe claimed Meghan is stealing the show from her husband - a narrative which plays into Harry's preference to being "second fiddle".

He explained to OK!: "Meghan is a very strong character, very driven, extremely ambitious, and those are the kind of characteristics that mean she will almost always inevitably outshine Harry and grab the attention from him.

"Harry is entirely in her shadow. But he's never really been at ease with the attention, he's never really enjoyed it. Whether it's deliberate or not, Meghan is definitely a magnet for attention.

"Although we saw a huge amount of money spent on her combined outfits for Nigeria so maybe it's not a complete accident that she steals the limelight. Their Nigeria trip was 'The Meghan Show' and Harry was the side."
