Harriett Blackmore's secret connection to past Love Islander revealed in throwback post
Love Island star Harriett Blackmore has made no secret of her celebrity connections.
Speaking ahead of her Love Island entrance, she said: "Being a bit of an 'it girl' in Brighton, I’ve done personal shopping for the rapper Arrdee and one of my best friends is Saffron Barker the YouTuber."
Harriett and YouTuber Saffron, 23, have been close friends for a number of years, with Harriett making a handful of appearances in Saffron's online videos.
Saffron appeared on seventeenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with AJ Pritchard. The dancing duo finished in sixth place after losing to CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual in the dance off.
But Harriett has several more famous connections.
In July 2020, the reality TV star shared a post celebrating her graduation. In the caption, she said: "So excited to finally say that after 3 years of blood sweat and tears i have graduated with a BA HONS Degree in Musical Theatre, hard work definitely pays off and this is only the beginning! Thankyou for the best experience of my life!!"
Singer Mimi Webb was among those to comment on the post, writing: "My girl!! [three heart eye emojis]. So proud of you," while previous islander Lucinda Strafford penned: "Aww so proud of you."
Eagle-eyed Love Island fans have unearthed old video of Harriet and Saffron, with an account sharing a snippet of the clip on TikTok and many sharing their disbelief at Harriett's strikingly different appearance.
In the full video - shared to Saffron's YouTube video five years ago - Saffron had challenged herself to live in her car for 24 hours, with Harriett joining her for a brief stint in the car. The pair sat in the back of the car together, where Saffron had set up her bed. They then ordered a pizza together and chatted away to the camera as they settled down for the evening.
Love Island fans were stunned to see how different Harriett, who would have been around 19 years old at the time of filming the video, looked in the clip. Many took to TikTok to share their shock.
"No way this is the same girl," one person said, as a second added: "nah that's acc a different person". A third person wrote: "Now I remember where I'd seen her," and another penned: "omg she looks so different".
