'Happiness is a robot vacuum' The one thing I'd rush to buy if I won the Lotto jackpot

Money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy you time. That’s why the first thing I would buy if I won the Lotto jackpot is a robot vacuum. The hours I could save if I didn’t have to run the vacuum around myself every day would be priceless.

A weekly cleaner, or even a housekeeper who could also do all the washing and cooking that comes with running a family home, would also be nice. It’s funny, if you’d have asked me five years ago before I became a mum what I’d spend my Lotto winnings on, I doubt achieving domestic bliss would have entered my mind.

I’m only half joking. A robot vacuum cleaner really would be at the top of my list of purchases if I became Wales’ next Lotto millionaire. But I do still have a little bit of adventure, and bigger dreams, left in me.

As a family we spend a lot of time through the summer at my parents’ caravan in Saundersfoot, however as our family grows, we are quickly outgrowing the space.

Spending our weekends in west Wales has made us fall in love with our country even more, and we know we have only explored a tiny fraction of it. I’ve been to the foothills of the Himalayas and Thailand’s white sand shores, and I’d still choose the countryside of the valleys and the beaches of Pembrokeshire over anywhere else in the world.

My husband and I share a dream of owning a Volkswagen Campervan one day. I’d use my Lotto winnings to make this dream come true. Our family weekends away would become much more spacious with the extra room to sleep.

But as our sons grow older, I want to spend as much time as possible with them, and I’d love to give them a childhood where we explore somewhere new every weekend, making precious memories that even if they will forget, I will always remember.

As well as our VW campervan, if I became Wales’ next Lotto millionaire I would buy my dream house in my home village. I’ve lived in this village for most of my 28 years. There was a two-year hiatus in another village 15 minutes away, but that was too far and for too long.

There’s something so special about where I live. The name, Gilfach Goch, roughly translates to Little Red Valley.

It is a tiny old mining village surrounded by the most beautiful green hills, and most importantly, it’s within walking distance to my parents, my children’s grandparents, and my sister. For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here

I know it is a bit of a joke that in the Welsh valleys there’s streets of people where everyone is related, and I’m not trying to play into the stereotype, but this really is a thing and I’d love to buy a row of houses we could all call home.

With a family full of tradesmen, I’d love to create a self-build house, or compound for the wider lot to join us too, up on the mountain somewhere. Hopefully the sheep wouldn’t mind us moving in, as I’m pretty sure I’ll be setting up as close to a petting zoo as a family home could allow.

I’d love to spend my days living out my Beatrix Potter dreams, with Dewi the duck, Gethin the goat and Rhodri the rabbit for company.
