Hairy Bikers's Dave Myers discusses "brutal" toll of chemotherapy
Celebrity chef Dave Myers has been reflecting on some of the "brutal" effects of his chemotherapy treatment in a new interview.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star is receiving treatment following a cancer diagnosis, having shared the news in May last year.
Speaking on the Seasoned podcast, Myers deemed the treatment "really brutal" and explained it has affected his appetite and weight.
"It's funny when you first start chemotherapy, it's quite hard – I'm still having it, it was really brutal," he said. "I lost so much weight and then it's a battle to get your calories in."

He continued: "At first I thought, 'Right, this is great, I can eat all those pies I haven't been eating for years', except [my] appetite was dreadful!"
"For me, a glutton, losing my appetite was awful, a can of soup was about as far as I could go," he added.
"Now I've got to the point where I'm at the weight I want to be, and I want to maintain it."
In a previous chat on the How to Be 60 podcast, Myers explained the chemotherapy also had an impact on his ability to walk, but reassured fans he hopes to be back filming this May.
"By God, the chemotherapy doesn't half age you quickly," he said.
"Your balance goes, so for someone with a motorbike that's a disaster, and my walking has been affected quite a lot, really," before adding that he had to 'learn to walk again properly'.
Myers first opened up on his diagnosis in conversation with his friend and Hairy Bikers co-host Si King in May 2022, telling him he was going to be "a baldy biker" for some time.
"Anyway Kingy, I've got to come clean now, I haven't been too well recently and basically, I've got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway, so this year is going to be a bit quiet for me," he said on their podcast The Hairy Rock Show.
"I may be a baldy biker for a while so it's just a warning. I don't want to make a fuss about it. I look alright bald, actually."
