Hairy Bikers legend Si King has been showered with love from fans as he gears up to return to the spotlight after the tragic loss of his co-star and dear friend, Dave Myers.

Dave passed away at 66 in February following a battle with cancer. The iconic culinary pair, known for their adventurous rides and delicious dishes, were separated by Dave's untimely departure, with a heartbroken Si, 57, sharing an emotional statement earlier this year: "My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow."

In a touching tribute, Si and Dave's widow Liliana Orzac recently embarked on a 'Dave Day' motorcycle ride from London to Cumbria to honour his memory. Now, taking to social media, Si has announced his comeback to work after mourning his best mate.

He excitedly told his followers: "I just want to let you know that the Good Food Summer Show is here and guess what I'm on. On Sunday 16 June I'm gonna be cooking live in the big kitchen."

"It's a brilliant day out with plenty of producers so you can go shopping and loads to choose from. Loads of summer cooking information which is why I'm here. Oh and plus you get entry to the BBC Gardeners' World Live show as well so there's literally something for everybody. I'll see you there. I'm really looking forward to it. Come and see us we'll have a laugh.", reports the Mirror.

Fans rallied around the chef with heartfelt messages, as one fan expressed: "I for one, is DELIGHTED to see Si plodding on. I feared he might fade into the background, after he lost his sidekick. Im so glad we still get to enjoy Si's bants."

Another chimed in: "Everyone will be just wanting to come and give you a hug."

A third shared their encouragement: "Enjoy yerself Si ! Dave will be looking over yer shoulder mind! ! ".

A fourth admirer commented: "Eee Si you are so canny, you're such a lovely man.....I feel you are doing all this for the lovely Dave."

Following the touching remembrance procession in Barrow-in-Furness last week, Si and Liliana took a moment on the official Hairy Bikers Instagram to extend their gratitude for the overwhelming support.

An emotional Liliana shared: "Very tired and emotional. Yesterday, we had a Dave day. It was an amazing day," as Si comforted her with a supportive embrace. Si reflected: "It was. Overwhelming."

She continued: "On the bikes crying our eyes out. We had all those beautiful people greeting us from every bridge we went under on the motorway and getting into Burrow..." Si then disclosed the impressive turnout: "The official figures stated that there were 46,136 bikes joining them and at least 200,000 people lining the route in support."

"It was absolutely overwhelming," he said. "Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts because it's just overwhelming. We're kind of lost for words. What a way to wake up after a Dave Day."

Liliana chimed in with equal gratitude: "Please accept our thanks from the bottom of our souls and let's have another Dave Day."
