H&M has introduced small furniture and lighting to its homeware collection for the first time.

The Swedish high street chain now sells design-focused benches, stools, pouffes, side tables and wall shelves, along with varying lighting options - from table lamps to bamboo hanging shades. The collection is priced between £149.99 and £17.99.

Although Scandinavian simplicity is obviously a design focus, the range is intended to go beyond interiors trends. Clean, modern lines, cubist shapes and versatile materials, such as marble and powder-coated steal, feature strongly, although there is also a selection of softer silhouettes and natural materials with key pieces including fabric pouffes in light beige or black and grey stools.

"Each piece of our new furniture line has been carefully designed to not only fit effortlessly into any room, but also express timeless design and diversity in style," said Mattias Chrisander, product designer at H&M Home. "We are very excited about this launch."

H&M Home was first launched as a textiles and interiors concept in 2009, and has been developed over the last nine years becoming an extensive collection, spanning bedlinen, storage and dinnerware. The brand plans to open its first H&M Home standalone stores later this year.
