Gwyneth Paltrow is getting candid about her experience of perimenopause.

The 50-year-old took to her Instagram Stories this weekend for a Q&A-style session with her followers and the same question popped up quite a few times; what is Gwyneth’s approach to perimenopause.

The goop founder shared a relaxed video reply, while appearing to lay down in bed and revealed that, “so many people have asked me this question today.”

For those who aren’t aware, perimenopause is defined as the time when a woman's body makes the transition into menopause. This is when a woman might often experience symptoms like hot flashes, mood changes and problems sleeping.

“My approach to perimenopause is really just to try to have good overall health,” Gwyneth explained.

"So good gut health, sleep, hydration, meditation, kind of all the basic tenets of wellness and [be] open to more allopathic interventions as well.”

She also outlined that women should be “open to anything” as they approach menopause and to try and see what works best for them.

“I think people should really follow their instinct and have robust conversations with their doctors. I recently found an integrative and functional OBGYN, so that's pretty good," she concluded.

Gwyneth previously opened up about her experience with perimenopause back in 2021 on The goop Podcast.

At the time, she said, “for me, I'm solidly in perimenopause. Everything is totally irregular and a surprise all the time. My emotions are all over the place as well. Sometimes I get in bed at night and my heart races.”

“The hormones are really no joke,” she continued.

She was also keen to highlight, “phases of a woman's life that we don't really talk about.”

“We're embarrassed about it. I think we need to stop thinking about it as the end of something more of the beginning of another chapter.”
