Gwen Stefani is somewhat of a hair chameleon. While the singer never strays far from her trademark blonde coloured locks, her styles and cuts arsenal seem never-ending. I'm talking about everything from waterfall hair to short, blunt bobs and even a cockatoo fauxhawk (you had to be there). Today, however, Gwen is keeping her look rather tame and instead, resurrecting a trending 2023 style. Enter: The 'curve cut'.

Just short of 24 hours ago, Gwen shared a video reel on her Instagram page. The post came in celebration of her recent collaboration with a US flower brand, Farmgirl Flowers; together, the two launched a custom arrangement inspired by Gwen's upcoming album, 'Bouquet'.

As much as we now want to adopt flower arranging as our new hyper-fixation hobby (just girly things), what had us inspired on the first watch was the star's fresh – yet equally nostalgic – haircut.

As shown, Gwen has had her peroxide blonde locks cut into an abundance of gradient waterfall layers, making for the epitome of a curve cut (also known as a C cut). This (also previously worn by Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez and Margot Robbie), is a hybrid style that brings the best of many looks together. Think: the layers of a more refined, tamed shag with the much-loved, throwback flippy ends from the 90s.

Like many hairstyles, there are many interpretations of the C cut but Gwen has opted to wear hers with long, chest-length extensions and with straight, inverted, flicky layers.

The curve cut may have seen its pique last summer but with Gwen's revival, we have no doubt that winter 2024 will be a resurgence of the look. Snip snip!
