Great Outfits in Fashion History: Rihanna's Multi-Striped Dior Couture Coat
There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In 'Great Outfits in Fashion History,' Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.
Rihanna doesn't need to be on a red carpet for her excellent style to shine through. In fact, she could very simply be visiting a tourist attraction in Paris.
For a 2015 visit to the Eiffel Tower, Rihanna did not let her fashion guard down: Following her appearance at a Dior show just days before, the star wore a couture look by the brand — then in its Raf Simons era — to do some sightseeing.
The singer kept things minimal with her base layer, wearing a crisp white button-down and dark blue mini-skirt layered over black tights — a great outfit in and of itself, but the star of the show was the voluminous multicolored coat she wore on top. With thick tea-and-red stripes down the center, black-and-white pinstripes on one sleeve and yellow-and-black on the other, there's no denying the statement-making powers of this look. Rihanna completed the spotlight-stealing outfit with vinyl black thigh-high boots and a crocodile-embossed black Diorama flap bag.
