Great British Bake Off champions Rahul and Peter share meet-up
Former Great British Bake Off champions Rahul Mandal and Peter Sawkins have enjoyed a sweet reunion.
The two bakers won the ninth and 11th series of the Channel 4 show, respectively, and it seems they've struck up a lovely friendship offscreen.
Sharing a series of pictures from their meal together, Rahul revealed Peter was visiting his area of Sheffield, which proved a good opportunity to meet up.
"Look who I meet up with this weekend!!" he captioned the series of pictures. "It is Peter @peter_bakes. As soon as I found out that Peter is visiting Sheffield for his badminton match, I needed to meet and catch up."
Rahul called Peter "just the purest soul you can ever meet," adding that they "spoke for hours, had a nice meal. It was lovely".
"The first time I met him when I went to film for the new years @britishbakeoff," Rahul went on to reveal. "He was so calm and collected, very very friendly yet very dignified.
"There is no doubt that he is a brilliant #baker, but Peter is one of the person you will meet in life, who inspires you to be a better person too. He radiates #positivity. I am just glad that I know him and he is a part of my bake off family.
"Thanks for visiting me. Hope to meet you soon again."
The post comes after Rahul shared a reunion with fellow 2018 series stars Ruby Bhogal and Antony Amourdoux last month, calling the pair his "brother and sister".
Aside from enjoying reunions, Rahul recently revealed the delightful news that he had married his partner Shreya.
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
