The Great British Bake Off is back but with a small twist. A special edition of the series is being broadcast with celebrities for the charity Stand Up To Cancer, which is a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.

Each episode, will see four celebrities being challenged to create their best bakes in the three traditional bake off rounds-signature, technical and showstopper. Then at the end of each episode, one celebrity will be crowned the Star Baker.

Hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding are back for the special series, along with the silver fox judge, Paul Hollywood. Although a new judge will be gracing our screens, long-time friend of former judge Prue, Caroline Waldegrave OBE will be joining the team. She is also the former co-owner and managing director of Leith's School of Food & Wine. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter

When is the new series on?

The new series will be called 'The Great Celebrity Bake for Stand Up To Cancer' and it will be on Channel 4. The first episode will be broadcasted on Sunday March 16 at 7:40pm and will be available on catch-up at Channel4.com.

The first episode will see husband and wife podcasters and broadcasters Chris and Rosie Ramsey and sibling TV presenters and property experts Scarlette and Stuart Douglas competing to become the show's star baker. Despite being famous pairs, they will all be competing independently.

They'll be challenged to an afternoon tea classic, scones, in their signature round, before making a chocolatey old-school favourite in the Technical round. Lastly, for their Showstopper baker they will attempt to recreate their career highlight in cake.

The married couple are fans of the show and often watch it with their eldest son Robin. Despite being excited to compete in the show and potentially receive a coveted Hollywood handshake, the pair are hoping to raise money and awareness of the charity.

Rosie said: "It’s such a brilliant cause, as well as being a brilliant experience. It’s an honour to be a part of Bake Off for SU2C."

Chris added: " Cancer is a brutal thing that ravages and devastates millions of families so absolutely anything we can do to help raise money to advance treatment and battle cancer, we will do. "
