Chris Martin Pays Emotional Tribute To Liam Payne Gareth Cattermole

During the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, Chris Martin made an emotional tribute to One Direction's Liam Payne during the Memoriam section of the event.

The Coldplay frontman performed 'All My Love' from the band's album Moon Music, while a photo of Liam appeared on the screen above. During the performance, a message appeared which read, 'Liam Payne, singer-songwriter, One Direction.'

A video of Payne during his One Direction days played, and during the clip, he was heard saying, 'We never expected any of this to happen. We have done some amazing things.' The video also showed Payne performing with his former bandmates and waving at crowds of fans.

The emotional tribute came months after Payne's tragic death in October 2024, when the popstar was found dead after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Understandably, the tribute touched the hearts of not just Directioners, but many across social media platforms.

One X user took to the app to state how moved they were by the tribute.

Another wrote that the tribute 'hurt my heart all over again'.

Alongside Payne, tributes to other late stars in the Memoriam section included Marianne Faithfull, Eric Carmen, Tito Jackson, Cissy Houston, Toby Keith, while Quincy Jones was honoured earlier in the evening.
