Golden Globe 2024 Winner Ayo Edebiri Goes Strapless in Red Prada Dress and Talks ‘The Bear’ Thom Browne Jacket
Ayo Edebiri attended the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles in a strapless red dress from Prada.
The actress received her first Golden Globe for her role in FX’s “The Bear. ” Her dress featured a darted bodice and a floor-length train.

Edebiri added on a pair of matching satin pumps, completing her look with white gold and diamond Boucheron jewels. Danielle Goldberg, who also styles Kaia Gerber, Greta Lee and Laura Harrier, dressed Edebiri for the occasion.
Using Benefit Cosmetics, makeup artist Dana Delaney gave Edebiri rosy cheeks and tinted lips, while hairdresser Miles Jeffries styled the actress’ dark tresses in a sleek bob.
“I’m so very grateful for this. I’m in a room full of so many people who I admire and whose work has lifted me up,” Edebiri said during her acceptance speech. “I’m an artist, and I’m very lucky to be an artist — and I know we all feel that way, so I really want to acknowledge that. I’m so grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press and to my family — everybody at ‘The Bear.’ That’s my family. I love you guys so much. It’s an honor to work with you and grow alongside you. Oh my gosh, the actors I was nominated alongside, also. And my real family, also. I love you guys, too.”
Ahead of her Golden Globes win, Edebiri spoke with WWD. Host Jeannie Mai was joined by Booth Moore, WWD’s West Coast executive editor, and Alex Badia, WWD’s style director, where they broke down the biggest red carpet fashion trends and interviewed the evening’s celebrity attendees.
Edebiri talked to Mai and Moore about wearing a Thom Browne chef’s jacket on “The Bear.” The actress has also favored his designs on the red carpet. “That actually just serendipitously happened,” Edebiri explained. “Chris [Storer] was talking to [Browne] and was thinking of him for that suit. Chris, who created the show, actually started out working in design. He worked at Ralph Lauren for a little bit. So he just is such a fashion freak, and when you watch the show, I feel like you can see that in all the menswear choices too, but I got to wear Thom on the show, and I love wearing him not on the show when I get to be a little more dressed up.”
The 81st annual Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, celebrate the biggest achievements across film and television in 2023. It is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by WWD parent company Penske Media Corp. Ahead of the ceremony, WWD hosted its first real-time red carpet digital show, co-hosted by Mai, highlighting the looks from the red carpet arrivals.
