This glow-boosting serum is the reason why I get so many skin compliments
I'm going to try and write this without sounding braggy: as a beauty writer, I get to try a lot of skincare products. If you don't believe me, you're welcome to look at the mini Sephora stored under my bed.
Taking my job seriously (don't say I'm not good to you), every product I recommend has been tested by yours truly, to provide you with genuine beauty advice. But here's the thing: with so many products to test, I rarely make it to the end of a bottle. However, there has been an exception.
Glow Recipie's Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops was the first product I ever placed into my 'empties' collection. To be frank, a few other formulas have joined since, but the Dew Drops were the first – and if you saw my mini Sephora, you would realise how impressive that is.

I'm sure you won't blame me when I say that it was the packaging that 'dew' me to the drops. I mean, the entire Glow Recipe collection is fun and playful. But when I dipped into the sweet, watermelon-scented formula, I realised this is far more than a pretty face.
So before I delve into the make up of the formula, let me draw your attention to the fact that it is currently on sale in Cult Beauty's Black Friday event, knocking the price down from £32 to £22.40. And it's not just that, the entire Glow Recipe collection is reduced by 25%, so don't mind me as I stock up until 2026.
Where do I begin? Firstly the Dew Drops spotlight one of my favourite ingredients of all time: niacinamide. Up until a year ago, my personality trait was that I had dry skin. But in the 365 days since, I've realised I'm more combination – and niacinamide has helped me in my journey of acceptance.
There are so many benefits of niacinamide, but above all it helps to minimise enlarged pores thus keeping oil production in check and ensuring that blemishes stay away. Then, we have the brightening benefits. Since I started using the Dew Drops I genuinely couldn't fight off the fans from asking how to achieve such radiant skin. Okay, not quite, but Jess from the WH team always noticed my glowing skin.
Then, as a combination-skinned girl, I love that the Dew Drops also offer hydration and that's all thanks to hyaluronic acid – our favourite humectant – to ensure the skin stays plump and juicy. As for the watermelon scent? I'm convinced some of that is artificial (it smells like a Pick 'n Mix sweet) but there is also a dose of watermelon extract to soothe and boost that radiance.
And if this matters to you, the sensorial experience is so nice that I look forward to my skincare routine each morning. After a thorough cleanse, I smooth on a thin layer of the Dew Drops – the texture is silky and a little gel-like – and then follow up with moisturiser and SPF.
So if you're not adequately convinced, I don't know what will please you. I'm onto my third bottle and I have zero plans to slow down. Oh, and remember, if you're tempted you can purchase it with 25% off while the Black Friday sale lasts.
