Glastonbury fan shows off hilarious flag dedicated to BBC host who gave middle finger

Maryam Moshiri is going to Glastonbury – but not in the way you may expect.

The BBC News presenter's face will be appearing on a flag that will be proudly waved during performances on the Glasto stage. And the cheeky design has left everyone laughing.

Newsreader Maryam was hilariously caught giving the middle finger to the camera last year. It was a total accident– and she immediately tried to pass it off by reading her bulletin seriously after.

The footage soon swept the internet, leading to Maryam to make an apology. Thankfully though, people loved the mishap so much that they have branded Maryam a legend.

And her colleagues seem to be equally besotted with the unusual take on newsreading. Rich Wolfenden, who works on the Beeb's Final Score programme, is planning to pay tribute to Maryam at Glasto.

Ahead of the Somerset festival, he took to X to say: "Important Glastonbury prep is underway." He attached a picture of a huge flag capturing Maryam's faux pas – much to everyone's amusement!

X users were left in stitches, with one writing: "Excellent work!" Another agreed: "This is brilliant – I've laughed so much I had to rewind 45 seconds of The Rest is Politics – superb banter."

A third joked: "Ratings will surely go through the roof with people looking for this." And a fourth added: "Genius!! Will be looking out for this in the Glasto crowd #iconic."
