This Girl Went Viral For Her Maximalist Designed House, And People Are Completely Blown Away By Her Decor
Myra Magdalen, a 27-year-old content creator and designer from Alabama, has continued to go viral over her extremely maximalist home decor. Way back in 2023, we took a look at her creatively decorated home.
Our original post featured Magdalen's bathroom walls, which are covered in keyboards. One side is covered in musical keyboards, while the other is covered in computer keyboards.

We took a look at her sewing area, which features a wall covered with a quilt and images of worms.
And we also checked out her ocean-themed bedroom, which had her DIY seashell headboard and beachy blanket. (Plus her adorable kitty, Stevie.)
Well, Magdalen's collections and maximalist home decor are still going strong. Recently, she released a new video home tour that features more than a few updates:

Her bathroom keyboard collection has continued to expand — the computer keyboards now span an entire wall into the shower.

She also recently purchased a new shower curtain for the room, which she had specially made for her space. Yes, it's a keyboard wall-themed shower curtain!
In a separate video, she acknowledged the large TV she also keeps in the bathroom. "For people wondering how I get into the shower with this giant TV in the way, it is not easy," she said.
The musical keyboard wall in the bathroom also now features a life-sized, horizontal horse cutout.

During the tour, Magdalen pointed out a "creepy" little hole in her ceiling. She said, "I'm kind of worried about [it] because occasionally I hear what sounds like a mouse." She then sticks her camera up into the hole so viewers can help her check for mice.

Sure enough, there was a whole nest of them up there.
Her bedroom maintains an ocean theme with a hand-made shell headboard, though she's swapped out her horse sheets for a calming purple. Stevie is still there, and still lounging, of course!
Magdalen felt the room's ceiling needed an addition. She wasn't sure what to put there, but said after some thought, "It occurred to me that bats go on ceilings, so I added some bats." All the bats are actually pictures of Magdalen herself.
And to make sure that Stevie didn't feel left out, Magdalen added some Stevie bats as well.

Magdalen's duck collection has grown exponentially. She said she put "little ribbons on all of them so they can feel beautiful," including one duck that she said "requested a Renesmee ribbon," which she deemed an "iconic choice."

Her nail clipper calendar lives on, complete with nail clipper stickers that she places on the calendar to mark off each day.
She also maintains her collection of picture frames filled with pictures of nail clippers (with a single exception: one photo of Walter White).

Magdalen still has her carousel music box filled with nail clippers, too. When activated, it opens each of the tiny doors and spins around in a circle, revealing the nail clippers, before closing again.

The worm wall above her sewing area appears to have some new hanging centipede additions.
And she still has her kiddie pool of what she calls "inside dirt," which features a gumball machine containing only capsules filled with tiny pictures of Jimmy Neutron's dad.

Those who feel the desire to dig down to the bottom of the dirt will be graced with more, larger images of Jimmy Neutron's dad.
Last but not least, Magdalen shares one final surprise bat she created for her bedroom...
As always, commenters are not quite sure what to make of Magdalen's aesthetic. One said, "your mind works in ways i'll never understand."
Another said, "I believe this is an original experience."
And one person said they thought Magdalen would make a great Creative Director.
Buzzfeed reached out to Magdalen to learn more about the inspiration for her decor. She said, "I think I’ve always gravitated towards decor that was a bit strange. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten more and more comfortable with just going for it and doing what I want with my space."
"I like having my space look like what the inside of my brain looks like. Most people want their homes to be a reflection of themselves in some way. Everything in my place feels like a little inside joke with myself, and there’s something very comforting about that."
Magdalen said her favorite room is, "My bathroom, which is the keyboard/technology-themed room. I love a themed bathroom."
When asked if she thinks her home will ever be complete, she said, "I’m always continuing to collect items, and I always will. It’s ever-evolving. I’m always adding things, making things, and moving things around. That’s part of the fun."
Magdale said what attracts her to this design style is that she likes "the idea of things being used in unexpected ways that may not objectively make sense but for some reason make sense to me."
"It scratches my brain in just the right way. I think it resonates with others for that same reason. One of my favorite comments that I often get is, 'I think I’m starting to get it.'"
Finally, Magdalen said, "Getting to express yourself authentically is a massive privilege that I feel so fortunate to be able to do. And knowing that there’s other people that enjoy that expression is beyond amazing."
