Giovanni Pernice 'in talks for I’m A Celebrity' after 'quitting' Strictly Come Dancing
Giovanni Pernice is rumoured to be in the sights of bosses from ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! following speculation about his departure from Strictly Come Dancing.
The dance sensation was at the centre of rumours earlier this week after reports surfaced that he had decided to leave the hit BBC show for a 'fresh start', amidst claims concerning his strict training approach with past celebrity partners, including Amanda Abbington.
The actress herself opened up about being diagnosed with mild post-traumatic stress disorder post her stint on the show.
Whispers about Giovanni's future with Strictly grew louder when his name was notably absent from a leaked internal memo listing the professional dancers for the upcoming 2024 season. The BBC has kept mum, only stating: "The Professional Dancers for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will be announced in due course."
But it seems Giovanni might not have to look too far for his next big break. Word on the street is that the allure of a hefty paycheck from I'm A Celeb could be quite enticing for him, reports the Mirror.
Sources suggest he's keen to avoid the 'intense pressure and scrutiny' he faced last season and is ready for a fresh challenge.
A TV insider spilled the beans to MailOnline, saying: "With I'm A Celeb round the corner, Giovanni would be a dream signing for producers, especially now he's looking for new opportunities and a way to hopefully show audiences he's a good guy. The money ITV could offer would be seriously tempting for him too, plus, he loves a challenge."
Mirror Online reportedly reached out to ITV and Giovanni's representatives for comments, but the Strictly star appeared to brush off the drama by jetting off for a Dubai vacay with his girlfriend Molly Brown.
It's rumoured that BBC was keen on retaining the 33 year old Italian pro-dancer, who's faced some heat previously due to his stern training methods with previous dance partners.
An explosive internal memo supposedly leaked online surprisingly did not list Giovanni among this year's line-up of professional dancers, sparking talks about a potential exit. It has been suggested that Giovanni might be exploring new avenues in TV.
Clearly enjoying their UAE getaway, the dancing sensation looked chuffed as Molly posted the highlight reel of their trip, adorably calling Giovanni her 'best friend'.
The lovebirds soaked up the Dubai sun, enjoyed lavish meals, and had laid-back days at the pool and beach. Molly flooded her page with cute snapshots and videos, leading fans to flood the comment section with praise for the pair.
One of her followers gushed: "What a beautiful couple you are! " while someone else mentioned: "As much as I'm gutted it's not me, you both make a stunning couple and deserve to be so happy."
