Everyone's favourite Italian TV chef has dramatically quit one of ITV's most popular cooking shows, and he's finally revealed why.

In a video on Instagram, Gino D'Acampo spoke directly to his fans to explain the goings-on behind his controversial move.

He said the main reason behind his decision to quit Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip was: "We can't get the dates together, and when we do get the dates together they can often change, which causes a lot of problems for me."

He went on to reiterate that the move had nothing to do with his friendship with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, which he says is "very strong" and will "go on for many years."

Essentially, they're all just very busy men with lots going on.

Gino also said that the changing date caused "personal problems" with his family, as it meant things could get "complicated".

The TV show proved popular with travel lovers as it tracked the three friends as they traveled the globe to explore local cuisines in different countries.

Gino also cited contracts as a reason why his time on the show had come to an end, saying: "Because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract."

The show first aired in 2018 where the trio travelled to Italy and France, then to the US in 2020 and Greece in 2022. There were also three Christmas specials, which just goes to show how popular the programme was with ITV viewers.
