Is it just us, or does everyone want to be Gillian Anderson's best friend? The star caught our attention once again on the red carpet this week for looking so, well, cool.
Arriving at the premiere of The Substance (starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley) in Los Angeles, Gillian Anderson managed to pull off that ever-so-delicate balance of looking both glamorous and relaxed.
First of all, she forewent statement jewellery, leaving off even a pair of simple earrings, and instead wore a pair of black rimmed glasses for a more informal look.
Her sleeveless green gown also had - wait for it - pockets. Clothing made for women has a distinct lack of pockets in general, but when it comes to red carpet dresses they are almost entirely absent. Posing with hands in pockets on the red carpet is usually a relaxed pose for the men in suits, but Gillian looked calm and powerful as she did the same on Monday evening (16 September).
The piece de resistance for this look, however, was her ponytail up-do. Curating that perfect 'messy' updo which adds height, creates volume and looks perfectly effortless is no mean feature, but Gillian's perfectly teased look was bang on.
Just days ago, the Sex Education star went for a very different vibe at the Emmys, choosing a polished look with a floor-length silver dress, glossy locks and statement jewellery.
Basically, when it comes to style, Gillian can do no wrong.
