Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have called it quits.

According to People, the longtime (on and off) couple have decided to end their relationship. The news of the pair's breakup comes after the supermodel's mother, Yolanda Hadid, alleged that she and Malik had a physical altercation, an accusation that Malik swiftly denied on social media earlier today. Hadid and Malik share a one-year-old daughter together, Khai, whom they welcomed last fall.

"They are not together right now. They are both good parents though," a friend of the Hadid family told People. "They co-parent. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild."

The supermodel's rep also released a statement to People, saying "Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time." Yolanda Hadid and Malik have not released further comments on the matter, though the former One Direction member also mentioned maintaining his focus on his daughter during this time.

The ultra private couple first began dating in November 2015, followed by a brief breakup in 2018. The two quietly reunited the following year, and then welcomed baby Khai in 2020. The pair are also fiercely protective of their daughter's privacy and have yet to share images of her face publicly, citing previously they want her to be able to share herself with the world on her terms.

Hadid opened up to BAZAAR about life as a new mom back in June, stating she loves everything that comes with motherhood.

"It’s all my favourite, even if it gets hard at times. You have so much patience and unconditional love that comes with motherhood," said Hadid. "It’s just fun to watch her grow and learn every day. And she makes me so proud. It’s funny how even the smallest things are exciting."
