The Y2K aesthetic is alive and kicking. From butterfly tops and cargo pants (or cargo skirts, if that's more your vibe) to bubble hems and charm necklaces, we're starting to lose track of the number of trends making a comeback in 2024 that were last seen 20 years ago. Luckily, Gigi Hadid is here to remind us.

Born in 1995, it seems the supermodel had a dose of noughties nostalgia when she was getting ready for the Deadpool & Wolverine world premiere held last night [Monday 22 July] in New York. Arriving on the red carpet, Gigi's Miu Miu ensemble for the evening featured just about every Y2K trend going, all in one outfit.

We're talking a leather bandana top in a try-and-miss-me bright banana yellow hue paired with a coordinating low-rise pleated midi skirt held in place by a wide suede waist belt. As for her accessories, Gigi toted a top handle yellow design dripping in bag charms with stacks of chunky bangles layered up both arms.

We told you, SO. MANY. Y2K, TRENDS. Possibly too many, maybe? We hate to be the ones to say it, but IMO the limit definitely exists. We're here for a throwback nod or two, but Gigi's 'fit practically transports us back to 2005.

Of course, her look is obviously an ode to Wolverine with Gigi going above and beyond to nail the brief. Not a comic book or Marvel fan? We got you. If the trailer is anything to go by, Hugh Jackman's character spends most of the film wearing a yellow armoured superhero suit. Colour theme: check.

As for the details, Wolverine's trademark cowlick and messy hair can be interpreted as inspo for Gigi's rockabilly swooped fringe and flicked-out ends while her black mani features nail art slashing in reference to Wolvervine's famous claws.

Of course, the likeness was made all the more obvious when Gigi posed alongside Blake Lively, whose own premiere attire obviously channelled Deadpool. It's giving glam ketchup and mustard. This is BFF fashion goals right here.
