Donatella Versace doesn’t do anything by halves. The legendary fashion designer, and Versace’s artistic director, was tasked with kicking off Couture Fashion Week and set the bar high by booking some of the world’s top models to don her SS16 collection.

The 60-year-old made sure her show was splashed all over social media by signing up the likes of Gigi Hadid, Lara Stone and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Joan Smalls, Natasha Poly, Stella Maxwell and Bradley Cooper’s supermodel girlfriend Irina Shayk also took to the catwalk, modelling the luxury Italian label’s goddess-style gowns.

The line itself was oh-so-Versace – an array of block colours and provocative ensembles. Models strutted their stuff in thigh-high slits, plunging necklines and extensive cutaways.

Hadid was dressed in possibly the sexiest suit we’ve ever clapped eyes on, while Huntington-Whiteley showed off her tan (she’s just back from a romantic Thailand break with actor beau Jason Statham) in blue frock worthy of the red carpet.

Lara Stone was a vision in white, scantily clad in a semi-sheer catwalk-skimming dress that showed off her enviable post-pregnancy frame.

The FROW was just as newsworthy. Rita Ora pulled out all the stops in a mini tangerine dress that left very little to the imagination.

The brightly-hued minidress was rife with cutouts and (barely) held together with Swarovski-encrusted rope. In fact, it looked really similar to a look that came down the runway, sported by none other than Joan Smalls.
