UFO investigation
US President Joe Biden has signed the official "Unidentified Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Act" on UFOs and other non-human technologies in space, on earth and below the earth's surface, which will allow for the investigation of, among other phenomena, the famous alleged "avocado-shaped" UFO that crashed in San Antonio, Texas, on August 16, 1945. According to astronomer Jacques Vallée, the alleged UFO was piloted by four-foot-tall aliens with "big googly eyes" that looked like praying mantises. According to The Daily Star newspaper, one of the witnesses to the famous phenomenon, 86-year-old Jose Padilla, said: "Strange-looking creatures were moving inside. They moved quickly, as if they were able to change from one position to another in an instant.”©BANG Showbiz - 3/10
Man eats 124 kebabs
A man consumed 250,000 calories after eating 124 kebabs in a month to raise money for charity, but has admitted the challenge damaged him "psychologically" and "physically". Des Breakey, a 36-year-old engineer from Manchester, admitted the challenge was too demanding for him, but that he feels a huge sense of "achievement" after completing the task. He said: "It's a great achievement. I appreciate the support. But I won't do it again. This is my last challenge. I'm retiring. I've enjoyed it, but it's taken its toll on me physically." Since starting the "Kababathon" on 1 December, Breakey ate up to four kebabs a day during the challenge. Des is still raising money for Francis House Children's Hospice after completing his challenge.©BANG Showbiz - 4/10
Eat your Christmas tree
The world's top chefs have suggested people eat their Christmas trees instead of throwing them away, as they provide vitamin C and other health and environmental benefits. The chefs say you can eat "pretty much anything", as long as it is an organic tree. René Redzepi of Copenhagen's three-Michelin-starred restaurant Noma explained that his restaurant has been using pine needles in food for 20 years. He said: "Think of it like rosemary: it can be used in almost anything. Spruce can be used to pickle eggs or vegetables, as well as in drinks and infusions."@BANG Showbiz - 5/10
An impending alien invasion?
Sightings of UFOs at iconic locations around the world have sparked fears of an alien invasion in 2023. Spacecraft have been spotted in London, Las Vegas and Brazil in weeks, leading alien believers to become convinced the little green men could arrive on Earth this year. UFO hunter Matt Wells said: "It's as if the aliens are sending a message, 'We refuse to hide. Here we are, out in the open, in the most important places on your world.' "Even the sceptics must be sitting up to take note. I think we could see the aliens arrive on Earth for the whole world to witness much sooner than originally thought."©BANG Showbiz - 6/10
Giant prehistoric apes live in China
'Flash Gordon' star Brian Blessed has claimed he has seen evidence that proves the existence of Gigantopithecus beasts - enormous apes estimated to have lived around two million years ago - which he claims have been hunted by the Chinese military. Blessed said: "This creature exists in China. About 10 years ago, the Chinese sent several hundred soldiers, explorers and scientists to remote areas of China because they kept getting reports of Gigantopithecus."©BANG Showbiz - 7/10
A low libido causes premature death
A group of scientists have claimed that a low libido may be a sign of premature death. According to experts, data from a study in Japan of 20,000 men and women show that men over 40 with a lack of sexual interest were almost twice as likely to die of cancer, and the risk of death from heart disease was one and a half times higher. The results held even when the researchers took into account other variables, such as underlying health conditions and exercise levels.©BANG Showbiz - 8/10
Another tough year for the royal family?
A psychic who predicted the death of Queen Elizabeth has suggested the British royal family will be in for a tough 2023. Craig Hamilton-Parker - who also predicted the COVID-19 pandemic, Brexit and Donald Trump becoming US President - says "difficult times" lie ahead in 2023, including global food shortages, a revolution in China and a royal accident. Craig, 68, also predicted drama for Prince Andrew and King Charles. He said: "Recently, in a state of deep meditation and in touch with my spirit guides, Prince Andrew appeared and something terrible happened to him. I think he's going to go through a psychological crisis hit by the death of his mother and I see King Charles rebelling against him ... I've also had hunches about King Charles' psychological health and him admitting to depression after the coronation discharge."©BANG Showbiz - 9/10
A record-breaking video game collection
Antonio Romero Monteiro has broken the Guinness World Record for his staggering collection of 24,268 video games from various platforms. Monteiro began his collection when he was 10 years old, in 1987, and his massive haul is valued at $2.1 million. He uses an app to keep track of the games he owns, but because it's such a large amount, he hasn't been able to play them all. Monteiro said: "At first, my collection was focused on buying games. Buying and re-buying some of the games I played in my youth. I see video games as an art form, where creativity and storytelling transcend to limitless possibilities. Each generation of video game systems offers greater potential to realise creativity and share stories, challenges and experiences without limits. Some of my fondest memories include video games and their experiences with family and friends.”©BANG Showbiz - 10/10
Thor the walrus returns to the sea
Famous walrus Thor attracted huge crowds in Scarborough during the New Year celebrations and prompted the cancellation of the seaside town's fireworks display to welcome 2023. The animal arrived in Northumberland harbour and was seen resting on a pontoon, but British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDLMR) confirmed it had left Blyth. The walrus - also believed to have been spotted swimming off the Hampshire coast last month - is expected to return to its usual Arctic waters.©BANG Showbiz
