Former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers' ex-partner Talia Oatway has given an update on their son Oakley's health following his recent hospital stay. The former Geordie Shore star, 37, and Talia, 32, welcomed their youngest child, Oakley, in 2022.

It was later revealed that Oakley was born with Apert Syndrome, a genetic condition affecting the skull, face, hands and feet.

The couple have been keeping their followers updated on Oakley's health journey via Instagram and last month, Talia announced that Oakley would be undergoing his ninth operation, but complications arose.

Talia shared that these complications included Oakley contracting an infection and going into septic shock. He was put into an induced coma for nearly a week, with Talia describing him as the "strongest little boy".

In a recent post, Talia shared the good news that they had finally returned home after nearly six weeks in Liverpool. Alongside a photo of herself holding Oakley in the hospital, she wrote: "After nearly 6 weeks of being in Liverpool, we are finally home. It has been the most difficult time of our lives, Oakley has been through so so much. I want to thank the Craniofacial Team at [Alder Hey Children's Hospital]."

"We have a great team behind us who not only supported Oakley through numerous surgeries, but also emotional support for myself. I want to thank all of the Apert families who have been there for us and helped us by sharing their experiences and words of encouragement."

She continued: "I think it's going to take all long time for me to come to terms with what actually happened the last few weeks. It's been so tough and I've really struggled," she further commented in the post shared with her followers this week.

"I hope our journey can help many families around the world living with Apert Syndrome. I will continue to share Oakley's journey to raise awareness of Apert Syndrome and support other medical families."

Talia concluded the post by expressing gratitude for the support she has received, reports the Mirror, and her post has been met with more than 7,000 likes on the platform and prompted well wishes from some of her followers in the comments section.

One person reacted: "Wishing the bravest little boy in the world a speedy recovery." Another said: "So glad he's home."

A third person wrote: "Amazing news. [...] Sending my love." Someone else responded: "Stay strong," whilst another follower said: "Amazing news. So glad you're both home. Sending lots of love."
