What you need

How to make friendship bracelets

1. For each bracelet, cut two 30cm lengths of narrow ribbon. Take one length and thread both ends through one buttonhole. Pull through to leave a small loop.

2. Thread the ends back through the loop and pull tight. Repeat with the second length of ribbon through the other hole. You can use four-hole buttons, but thread each end through a separate hole.

TIP: You may find it easier to use a needle to help thread the ribbon through the buttonholes.

Once you've mastered this button bracelet, there are so many other styles to have a go at. Why not try a braided friendship bracelet – simply braid three coloured strands of ribbon together, and thread in buttons or beads into the braid for added colour and texture.
