The just-launched fragrance line from supermodel Bella Hadid blends one of summertime’s most prominent scents — sea salt! — with pink pepper, an olive tree accord and lavender twist at the heart, finishing with a hint of woods and crisp amber. Per launch intel, Hadid’s love affair with fragrances began creating her own essential oil blends, growing lavender and distilling oils on her family farm. No summertime scent roundup, particularly in the South of France, is complete without Dior. Fragrance creative director Francis Kurkdjian is the nose behind the line which was inspired by a stop in Provence in a field below the La Colle Noire estate. “The southern sun was shining, the May roses were in bloom, and a warm breeze was blowing through the leaves of a majestic fig tree, my sole companion. The Chance line from the luxury house’s fragrance division offers many fresh options that would be a suitable fit for summertime but the Eau Fraîche option is THR’s pick for the sizzling season. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
One can’t go wrong with anything bearing the name Tom Ford and this fragrance is no exception. The iconic designer took inspiration from the “sparkling blue waters, cool breezes and the verdant foliage of the Italian Riviera” to craft the scene that is a fusion of citrus oils — Tunisian Neroli, Sicilian lemon, winter yellow mandarin and Italian bergamot — with undertones of lavender, orange flower, rosemary and amber. Ferragamo’s Signorina Unica
The newest edition to the luxury house’s Signorina line, Unica was crafted in collaboration with Jerome Epinette of Robertet. It opens with citrus notes and follows with a fresh and breezy Italian Riviera Marine Accord. Perfect for a trip up the Italian coast, there are hints of white azaleas and Italian tiramisu, which may seem like a wild pairing but is designed to create “an iconic floral gourmand combination that exudes sophistication and indulgence,” per Ferragamo. Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Aqua Celestia Cologne
Kurkdjian’s bottle looks as smooth and sleek as the sea during summertime. The scent also blends so many of the season’s prominent notes, expertly blending fruity notes of blackcurrant, mimosa (with facets of raspberry and blackberry), and jasmine (strawberry, apricot and peach accents), before mellowing out with a fruity musky accord.
