2. The day you're most likely to give up on resolutions, revealed

According to new data from running app Strava, Thursday was the day you were most likely to lose motivation for your New Year's resolutions, especially if they were fitness focused.

Data from more than 36 million of the app's members found that those who have made a fitness-based New Year’s resolution are most likely to give up on Thursday 17th January. However, the same data revealed what tips will actually help you to stay motivated. Their Year in Sport report for 2018 recommended:

  • Setting a Goal:94% of athletes who set goals remain active nine months later.

  • Joining a Club: Athletes who join a club are three times more active than non-club members.

  • Varying Your Workouts: Athletes who uploaded activities from two or more different sports recorded 15.3 activities per month compared to those who only uploaded runs (6.1) or rides (6.7).

  • Incorporating Indoor Activities: Athletes who shared indoor activities to Strava uploaded 323% more total activities in the past year versus athletes who only uploaded run or ride activities.

  • Being social: When athletes exercise in groups, they tend to go 21% further and those workouts last 10% longer.People who exercised in a group increased their average distance by 21.4% versus those who exercised on their own.

Not bad.
