First Dates star Fred Sirieix has thanked fans for their support following his daughter's stint at the 2024 Olympics.
Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, who is a diver, missed out on winning a second Olympic medal in Paris yesterday after competing in the women's 10-metre platform final, where she came in sixth place for Team GB.
Following Andrea's emotional interview with the BBC after the results were announced, fans were quick to share their support for the young athlete and praise all her achievements.
Expressing his thanks for all the support on Andrea's behalf, Fred wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Thank you so much for all the kind messages. It means so much and it is so appreciated. I will pass on the love and support to Andrea. Merci encore."
Andrea, who won a bronze medal for Team GB last week alongside Lois Toulson in the women's 10-metre synchronised platform, opened up about her 10-metre platform result and mental health battles in an emotional interview with the BBC.
"Obviously it wasn't the result that I wanted, but I'm not even upset at the competition, the girls dove amazing and did better than me and it wasn't meant to be," she shared.
"Three years ago, I didn't even want to be alive, so today I'm just happy that I am alive, that I'm breathing and that I've got my family to support me."
The star added: "I'm so happy to be here and be at the Olympic games. It's been a long year and this doesn't take away from my accomplishments and missing out on one medal doesn't change who I am."
