Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Camilla Dallerup says it's "hard to imagine" the show without live studio audience
Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Camilla Dallerup reckons it'd be weird to see the show air without a live studio audience, as it's so synonymous with its success.
As the BBC continues to try and figure out how the competition might safely return in 2020 amid the ongoing pandemic, the dancer said that it's "hard to imagine" the series without fans cheering on the celebrity performers from the sidelines.
"It's part of the magic," she explained during a new interview with HELLO! magazine. "But these are strange times."
Camilla took part in six series of Strictly, from 2004 to 2008.
Across her time on the show, she was paired up with celebrities such as bargain hunter David Dickinson, TV presenter Gethin Jones, chef James Martin and actor Tom Chambers – the latter of whom she won her final stint with.
Later, she and Tom joined judge Craig Revel Horwood on the Strictly Come Dancing Live UK tour, where the duo recreated their winning routine on stage.
Elsewhere in the chat, Camilla – who married Hollyoaks actor Kevin Sacre in 2010 – revealed she's looking to donate her wedding dress to a bride-to-be, especially if they're a COVID-19 frontline worker.
"If it can give happiness to someone else as it did to me, then I will be delighted," she said.
"I would love to gift it to someone. I would love it to make someone else's day special as it did for me."
Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return for an all-new series later this year on BBC One.
