We followed Trinny Woodall around for the day

From Red Online

Known for her energy and ability to jump out of the screen, the inimitable Trinny Woodall has developed a unique and dynamic way of engaging women all over the world.

With a career routed in fashion beginning in 1996, writing a weekly style guide for The Daily Telegraph which led to a successful leap to television with BBC’s What Not To Wear, Trinny has continued to capture the attention of women everywhere. Now a regular on ITV’s This Morning, Trinny continues to use her straight talking attitude to change women’s perceptions of how they look and feel.

With over 600,000 engaged women worldwide, she has proven that she can speak to women, wherever they are and in whichever way will most impact their lives.

Oh, and her beauty brand Trinny London is pretty fabulous, too.

How do you start your day?

I always start the day with hot water lemon and honey and always take about 16 vitamins. I have a cleansing routine and when I leave the house I walk to a little coffee shop on the Kings Road and get the best coffee, Hagen.

Are you a breakfast or no breakfast person? If so, what do you typically eat?

Either I have coconut porridge from Pret-a-Manger which I have roughly two days a week or I otherwise have something like avocado on toast with a cappuccino and then I might snack through the day.

What do you wear to work?

Generally, I’m photographing or videoing my outfit of the day, so I do have to think through what I wear for work. But I always change it up depending on what I’m doing, if I’m going to do a public event I’ll be quite heavily sequined and usually choose mad colours but if I’m having a quiet day at work I generally keep more monotone.

What’s your favourite part of your work environment?

Our office as it is a house in South Ken. My favourite part about my work environment is the bathroom, when I’m in the bathroom I can be talking to ladies on Instagram and talking about products.

What's the best bit about your job?

That every hour I’m doing something totally different.

How did you get to where you are now in your career?

By never feeling I’d come to the end of the road and always feeling there’d be something around the corner. Quite a lot of hard work and keeping my energy up.

Do you snack throughout the day? If so, what on?

Yep, I snack on whatever I’m in the kitchen, so it might be some grilled halloumi hanging around or some black bread with avocado or dark chocolate Halo bars, punnets of raspberries. When I get home, I have tea and toast, biscuits – chocolate biscuits, Florentines.

What’s the weirdest part of your working day?

Having meetings in the bathroom or corridor because there’s not enough room in our office anymore.

What’s your laptop background? Why?

I’m an obsessive-compulsive Apple user, I started using Apple three years after they came out (I’m that old) and I always wanted to have the newest piece of equipment so whenever the iPhones come out I’m always been the first one in the queue to get it and laptops – I’ve now moved on to an iPad Pro and let go of my laptop but its always been an Apple.

What’s your favourite lunch?

If I’m going out for lunch, my favourite lunch, is a crab salad with avocado and then Goujons of Sole with mushy peas and cauliflower cheese.

Describe your commute to us, if you have one? Do you listen to anything, read?

I get in my car and it’s a five-minute drive and I’m on the phone usually to my daughter.

How do you wind down in the evening?

I get into bed at 7 and I don’t get out of it, I have telly supper and I watch box-sets.

What do you watch on TV?

Box-sets.

Do you have any night time cleansing or beauty regimes?

Yes, I do a double cleanse and then I generally three times a week do a micro needle and then I might put on Peel by Julia Hunter and then perhaps a retinol with peptides.
