Fleur East admits she's not ready to share details of giving birth to daughter on living room floor

Fleur East has candidly opened up about her unique birth experience, revealing that she gave birth to her baby girl on the living room floor, but isn't quite ready to delve into the details just yet.

The 36 year old radio presenter and singer, who rose to fame on The X Factor, shared earlier this year that she was expecting her first child with husband Marcel Badiane-Robin. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, were overjoyed to welcome their daughter Nova last month.

Taking to Instagram to share the joyous news with her fans, Fleur penned a heartfelt message: "And just like that, our baby girl, Nova, is here! ! Our daughter entered the world via squat position into the arms of my Husband and I on our living room floor."

She continued, hinting at the dramatic birth story: "One day I will share my birth story with you (what a RIDE! ), but for now, we are resting and doing well. So thankful to the amazing midwives who were by my side, my birthing partners (my auntie Tina and my Husband @marcel__robin ) and all of our family who have been helping out and showering us with love. It really does take a village! So grateful to God for this blessing. Our little Nova was born on the 22nd March and it feels like she's always been here."

Now, Fleur has give an update on how she is adjusting to life as a new mum, on Hits Radio. She confessed on Tuesday morning's show (23 April) that chatting with adults felt somewhat strange after spending most of her time with little Nova and her husband, reports the Mirror.

"It's so weird to talk to other adults - I've been talking in a baby voice for so many weeks now," she joked. "The first week was a complete blur, I was just a walking zombie, I didn't know what was going on. I felt like I was a milk machine for seven days straight, but now I'm adjusting I feel a little bit more human. It's going to take some time but I'm enjoying it a lot more now."

"I can't go into it [the birth] I need some time to get over it to be honest. It's funny because there's a spot in my living room that every time I walk past, I'm reminded of exactly where Nova was born and that makes it a little harder to get around. I think she has the Fleur East vocals - her pitch and tone are very clear. When she starts crying it's like OK those lungs are working - she can project very well."

The new mum added: "Loads of people say to me you're never going to remember life without her, and I try to but it's very hazy, it feels like it's in the distant past. And it is weird now, I can't imagine going day to day without Nova in my life. It's very strange but amazing."

Fleur announced that she was pregnant back in January. She shared the exciting news with fans on New Year's Day, posting a photo of herself cradling her baby bump.

Teasing about the year ahead, she wrote: "2024 is gonna be different.."

The star announced in early February that she'd be taking a break from her role on Hits Radio's Breakfast Show, which she's been a part of since 2019. She took to Instagram to talk about her temporary leave after her final show, expressing: "I'm off! Off to go and have a baby! I've had an amazing last week with my [Hits Radio] family, filled with fun interviews, laughs and surprises for my last show. Thank you to my [team] for making my last week so special."
