First NHS patients ‘in a generation’ get plasma from UK donors
NHS patients have received life-saving treatments from plasma given by UK donors for the “first time in a generation” after a long-standing ban was lifted. National medical director of NHS England Professor Stephen Powis, Health Minister Baroness Gillian Merron, as well as NHS Blood & Transplant chief executive Dr Jo Farrar met with two of the first people to receive the UK-made plasma.
