A first look of the new Netflix Peaky Blinders film has been released. The first image from the set of the film shows Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan

The 32-year-old Irish actor shot to fame with movies Saltburn and The Banshees Of Inisherin. In the image, the actor, who is dating pop star Sabrina Carpenter, can be seen wearing a flat cap while leaning out the side of the car.

Keoghan is set to star alongside Peaky Blinders lead, fellow Irish actor Cillian Murphy, who plays Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby in the movie. No release date for the movie has been set yet, but stars have been spotted filming scenes in Yorkshire this week.

Netflix shared the image of Keoghan to its X account, with the caption: "Your first look at Barry Keoghan in the upcoming Peaking Blinders film!" The actor, who is known for his cheeky repertoire on the social media account formerly known as Twitter, quoted the post and said: "What are we saying?! *just remembered my password." Before asking the Netflix account "And chill?"

British actors Stephen Graham and Sophie Rundle (who plays Ada Thorne, Tommy Shelby's sister) are also due to make a return to their roles from the BBC drama. Sophie was seen on set wearing a red coat and skirt with matching lipstick and hat as she walked alongside an unknown actor called Kasper Hilton-Hille. The movie is set to see the Shelby family navigate World War Two. Writer and creator Steven Knight said it would be an “explosive chapter” in the story with “no holds barred”

Taking to social media on May 4, Netflix posted a photo of the front page of a script called 'A Peaky Blinders Film'. The streamer said: "Tommy Shelby returns. A Peaky Blinders Film starring Cillian Murphy is coming to Netflix."

Knight said: “I’m genuinely thrilled that this movie is about to happen. It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”
