HBO Max has shared the first footage of Sex and the City's eagerly-anticipated reboot And Just Like That - and it's looking hopeful for lovebirds Carrie Bradshaw and Mr Big.

The new 10-part series features the return of Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda, and Kristin Davis as Charlotte, and follows the three women as they navigate the reality of life and friendship in their 50s.

In the brief clip, SJP's Carrie can be seen making dinner with Chris Noth's Mr Big before the pair embrace and share a kiss. Noth's reprisal of Mr Big was confirmed earlier this year, with Michael Patrick King telling Deadline: "How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex and the City story without our Mr. Big?"

Carrie and Big finally got together in the show's finale after a turbulent on/off relationship, and the iconic on-screen couple went on to marry in the film adaptation.

It was also announced that John Corbett will be returning as Carrie's ex-fiancé Aidan Shaw, whom she cheated on with Mr Big. In the series, Aidan had settled down and started his own family - but could there still be a spark between Carrie and the carpenter?

New cast members joining the show include Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley, currently rumoured as a replacement for Kim Cattrall's Samantha, Hamilton's Christopher Jackson as Herbert Wexley, The Marvellous Mrs Maisel's LeRoy McClain, and Andre Rashad Wallace.

As most fans are aware, Cattrall isn't returning as inimitable PR executive Samantha Jones. According to HBO's chief content officer Casey Bloys, the script will incorporate Samantha's absence as part of the storyline to highlight how friendships can evolve over the years.
