Feather brows are the latest bizarre Instagram beauty trend

Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past few years, you’re probably aware brows are having a bit of a moment.

Yes, we want them thick, voluminous and artfully untamed, but in the case of the latest brow trend to sweep Instagram, shaped like feathers too.

The other day, Finnish make up artist Stella Sironen did one small thing no one seems to have thought of before; gave some brows a small parting.

Earlier this week, she posted a photo of an eyebrow with its hairs split down the middle and fixed with a glue stick to form a feather-like shape.

Which she’s now dubbed the #featherbrow.

In the original post, she credited her friend Leevi, who “came up with this whilst brushing my eyebrows last Sunday”.

And of course, we have to give some credit to that wonderful pastel eyeshadow and electric blue mascara, too.

In a later post, Sironen suggested it had just been “a joke”, but none the less it’s been a hit – the post has more than 40,000 likes, and with it, a healthy dose of controversy.

Some commenters have called it “nasty” while another wrote “why you got centipedes on your face” (eurgh, maybe they have a point).

But on the other side of things, others have called it “awesome” and “it looks like a feather it’s so cool”.

What do you reckon?
