Fearne Cotton has summed up how lots of us are feeling after another strict lockdown was announced in England and Scotland yesterday.
At the start of an Instagram Live with mental health campaigner, journalist and author Bryony Gordon earlier, Fearne let out a big sigh and said: 'Here we are again' in reference to the latest news. People in Wales and Northern Ireland are also living under tighter restrictions as cases of the new COVID-19 variant surge.
The TV and podcast host and former Red cover star admitted that it's 'hard to know what to say' but 'it's just so full on and bonkers and each day we just have more stuff chucked at us', a sentiment lots of the Red team can attest to feeling today.
Like Fearne, we're mindful that we have lots to be grateful for, and are indebted to NHS staff and key workers for their dedication and hard work. But the feelings of helplessness and exhaustion are there nonetheless and that's OK.
Fearne summed this up perfectly with the caption: 'My great friend @bryonygordon hopped on for an insta live today. The main theme being that none of us are going to feel normal right now and that’s A O.K. Big love to you all on this weird, freezing cold confusing day'.
She said she 'wanted to be of help in some way' and is working on another series of her Happy Place podcast 'to give you something nice to listen to'. But admitted she felt 'really unmotivated' over Christmas.
'Like a lot of you I felt like I didn't know what was about to happen next and I lost all momentum,' she explained. 'I'm just getting myself back in gear now...I think it's really important that we all keep talking and don't feel alone because a lot of people are very, very alone right now'.
