Calling fans of Harry Potter, Gossip Girl and Twilight (AKA all of us here present), there’s a new Netflix show with your name on it set to air this autumn/winter. Fate: The Winx Saga is part-fantasy fiction, part-high-school drama, and we, our blankets and our chai-tea lattes are very much here for it. Here’s what we know so far…
What's Fate: The Winx Saga all about?
It follows the adventures of teenage “fairy warrior” Bloom and her friends as they navigate life at Alfea College, their magical boarding school (Ron Weasley sadly not included). The six-part live-action series, produced by Vampire Diaries’ co-executive producer Brian Young, is inspired by one of the longest-running and most popular franchises on Nickelodeon, Winx Club. Expect witches, fairies and mythical creatures galore.

Who’s in Fate: The Winx Saga?
Abigail Cowen (Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina) stars as Bloom, alongside newcomer Hannah Van Der Westhuyseas as Stella and Precious Mustapha (Endeavour, The Stranger) as Aisha. The OG show, which premiered in 2004, was a major ratings success and featured voiceovers from the likes of Ariana Grande, so here’s hoping for a cameo…
Is there a trailer for Fate: The Winx Saga yet?
Not yet, sadly. But executive producer Iginio Straffi called it "edgier and darker than what [fans] can imagine”, which has got us very excited indeed. Jennifer Breslow of Netflix said, "We are extremely proud to bring this iconic set of strong female characters to life,” and called it “a wildly entertaining and addictive genre series”. Sold? Us too.
Do we have a Fate: The Winx Saga release date yet?
Filming began in Ireland last year, but Netflix has yet to announce the official release date. We’re expecting it to land in November or December, so you’ve got plenty of time to clear your viewing schedule for pure Winx-binges (Winges?). See you there.
