Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them actor Kevin Guthrie has been jailed for three years after sexually assaulting a woman at a flat in Glasgow in 2017.

STV News reports the woman had been unwell on a night out and was taken back to the flat of another actor named Scott Reid, where Guthrie was also.

The two men placed the woman in bed, and Reid left the room with Guthrie staying behind "to make sure she was okay," the court heard.

Guthrie said he had only “helped” the woman that night but his DNA was found on the inside of her underwear.

The court heard that Guthrie groped and performed sex acts on the woman, and stopped when Reid came back into the room.

The judge told Guthrie during sentencing: “You were in a position of trust while she was in distress and unwell. This is a heinous crime – you were meant to be looking after her while she wasn’t able to look after herself.”

Guthrie was sentenced to three years in prison and he will be added to the sex offenders registry.

As well as playing Mr. Abernathy in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Guthrie has appeared in The English Game, The Terror and Sunshine on Leith.
