Fans Are Convinced Taylor Swift Shared The Name Of Blake Lively's Fourth Child In Her New Song

Taylor Swift's new track 'You’re On Your Own, Kid', from her recently released album Midnights, became a fan favourite following its release last week as it features some of the singer's most personal and brutally honest lyrics to date.

Among the references to fame and relationships that feature on the 32-year-old's 10th studio album comes an apparent hidden meaning behind one name in particular. At least, that's what her fans think.

In hew new song 'You’re On Your Own, Kid', Swift sings: 'I see the great escape, so long, Daisy May.'

Just 17 minutes after the song was released her fans began to speculate the name she referenced is that of her friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' unborn fourth child.

One fan took to Twitter to write: 'Calling it now Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds baby is going to be named Daisy Mae #MidnightsTaylorSwift [sic].'

Another person added: 'I love coming to Twitter to confirm things like - yes other people also think Daisy May/Mae is the name of Blake Lively’s baby #MidnightsTaylorSwift [sic].'

At this stage, we don't know what name Lively and Reynolds plan to give their child, let alone whether they've even made a decision yet, so it's safe to say that Swift fans might be jumping the gun here.

However, their speculation isn't without reason given Swift's previous mentions of the couple's children on her prior albums.

For example, she used the names of their three daughters, James, seven, Inez, six, and Betty, three, as characters in her 2020 Folklore album, and even chose the name 'Betty' for a song title.

In a 2020 interview with People, Swift spoke about using the names of her friends' children in her music.

'I named all the characters in this story after my friends’ kids... and I hope you like it!' she told the news outlet. 'I’ve always loved that in music you can kind of slip into different identities and you can sing from other people’s perspectives. So that’s what I did on this one.'

Swift also thanked James, Inez and Betty in her acceptance speech upon receiving the 2021 Album of the Year Grammy.

Reynolds previously addressed Swift's use of his kids' names in the past, saying in a SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham in 2020: 'The names are the names of our kids, but we trust her implicitly, and she’s very sensitive to any of that stuff.

'And obviously the song has nothing to do with our kids other than our kids’ names.'

Back in December 2020, fans were convinced Swift's album Evermore revealed the name of Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s baby on the track ‘Dorothea’. However, as we all know, the former couple decided to name their daughter Khai.

Devotees of Lively and Swift will know the full extent of their friendship.

Gossip Girl alum Lively even co-wrote and directed the singer's 2021 music video for 'I Bet You Think About Me', from her album Red (Taylor’s Version). She later shared a photo on Instagram of herself wearing a large heart-shaped eight-carat rubellite ring, which was also worn by Swift in the video.

The A Simple Favour star revealed that she was expecting her fourth child in September, when arriving at the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women's Summit in a sequinned Valentino mini dress that showcased her bump.
