Married At First Sight’s relationship expert Mel Schilling has teased ahead to a dramatic reaction to one of the challenges in the experiment.

Fans can currently see her offering up words of wisdom to the couples taking part in season 10 of MAFS Australia.

Mel and her fellow experts, John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla, set a range of tasks for the couples throughout the experiment in a bid to replicate real-world relationship challenges.

However, revealing what’s set to come later in the season, Mel exclusively told Digital Spy one groom "refuses" to participate in a task.

Teasing what fans of the reality show can expect to see in the upcoming episodes, Mel explained the show has introduced one of its biggest challenges yet.

"One of the new elements we introduced last year, we’ve taken it and supersized it," she revealed. "So, there was a new element last year that was a little bit shocking.

"We thought, okay, let's see how far we can kind of stretch the boundaries here to really give our participants as close a taste of that real word world experience as we possibly can.

"And you know, there's one groom for example, who point-blank refuses to take this challenge on, so it's pretty tough."

Ensuring she kept tight-lipped about any potential MAFS spoilers, Mel didn’t reveal which groom will insist on not participating in the challenge.

However, regular viewers will know there are numerous couples in the experiment who have already had some bumps in the road for their relationship.

Mel also previously confessed to us that there will be more "tricky dynamics and conflict" brewing throughout season 10.

"I’d love to say that all the drama is over in one go and now it’s smooth sailing but it’s not," she remarked.
