Exclusive: This $12 Million Apartment Is Sarasota’s Most Expensive Condo
The most expensive condo currently on the market in Sarasota, Florida, is this two-floor, $12 million apartment. Complete with a wine room and a stainless-steel circular staircase, the 8,000-square-foot aerie also has a whopping 8,000 square feet of outdoor space.
The palatial pad occupies the fourth and fifth floors of Aqua, a boutique luxury residential development in the Golden Gate Point area by award-winning architect Guy Peterson. Peterson, a Sarasota native, has designed some of the area’s most notable buildings and residences, many of which lean into the city’s deep modernist architecture roots.

Like Peterson’s eye-catching Spencer House on Prospect Street, which has been featured in the BBC and Netflix series The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes, the airy condo feels bright and open, with soaring floor-to-ceiling windows and a full-height accordion glass wall.
“This two-story Downtown estate has no parallel in Sarasota,” writes the listing, which is held by Lisa Morris and Amy Drake of Douglas Elliman. Built in 2016, the approximately 7,800-square-foot spread sports four bedrooms and five full bathrooms. There are also tons of designer light fixtures, custom concrete planters, and a massive sculptural staircase made from steel. And then, of course, there’s the insanely large wraparound terrace that offers 360-degree water and city views.
Past the staircase on the entry level, you’ll find a spacious dining area that’s decked out with a custom chandelier from design studio Rich Brilliant Willing. Nearby, the minimalist chef’s kitchen is equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and a breakfast area that has stellar views of the bay. This floor also holds two ensuite bedrooms, a temperature-controlled wine room, and a catering pantry with an oven, dishwasher, and prep area.
The primary suite is outfitted with a generously sized dressing room and dual offices, the latter of which are connected by a double-sided see-through glass fireplace. The ultra-luxe ensuite bath includes a soaking tub, a rain shower, and a double vanity with marble countertops.
Residents of the seven-unit building have access to a slew of enviable amenities. A few of Aqua’s standout perks include a gym, a yoga studio, an infinity pool, and a putting green. Buyers of this condo will have the added benefit of two private boat slips and garage parking.
