In the new Netflix breakout series Nobody Wants This, Kristen Bell plays a podcast host who falls in love with a “hot rabbi” played by Adam Brody. Given that he’s devoutly Jewish (and she’s not), drama promptly ensues.

But while you’re binge-watching every episode and obsessing over the Veronica Mars-Seth Cohen matchup, it’s hard to miss Kristen’s seriously glowy skin. Cruise through her Instagram posts and you’ll see that it isn't TV magic—her complexion is really that good.

So, what’s Kristen Bell’s skincare routine? Here’s what the 44-year-old has shared.

What is Kristen Bell’s face skincare routine?

Kristen’s gorgeous skin starts with a clean base—so she makes sure to remove all of her makeup at the end of the day. 'I never go to bed with makeup on,' she previously told Shape. She’ll double cleanse by removing her makeup with a wipe or coconut oil, followed by a more intense cleanser.

'It’s just wiping off your makeup from your skin first and then using your cleanser so it can actually work to clean out your pores without any interference,' Kristen told W in 2017.

She loves to exfoliate, too. Kristen's a big fan of the Clarisonic brush (which has since been discontinued), telling Vogue in 2021 that she's been 'scouring eBay to make sure that I still have one since they don’t make them anymore.' Kristen also hilariously called it 'my third child' to Refinery29, adding, 'It’s my most prized possession. You could never take it away.'

Alongside her Clarisonic, Kristen uses a $59 oil-to-gel cleanser from Instytutum. 'It’s not a leaves-a-residue oily, but it clears everything without sucking all my moisture out,' she said. 'And then because I still have combination skin, I use the iS Clinical Active Serum for breakouts.'

Kristen, who is a Neutrogena ambassador, also enjoys the Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser, which has since been discontinued. 'I’m not putting harsh chemicals, sulfates, parabens, petroleum, or dyes on my skin, but I’m getting the same results as everyone else,' she told Elle in 2016.

She finishes it all up with a heavy moisturiser, like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream. 'As I’m getting older, I’m realising how important moisture is to my skin,' she told the publication.

She skips cleansing in the morning.

While Kristen is all about cleaning her face at night, she takes a pass in the A.M. 'I believe in washing all of the grime off of your face at night, and I always like clean skin, but the oils that my skin produces during the night are vital to maintaining my moisture balance during the day,' she told Elle.

'When I need to wake my face up, sometimes I’ll just put a hot towel on it for a minute or two. It just feels so, so nice,' she continued. 'It feels like you’re at a spa for a second. It pulls all the blood flow to my face and sort of wakes me up. I definitely do that before I put makeup on.'

She has a few favourite treatments.

Kristen's skin is pretty sensitive, so isn't a big fan of things that 'make my skin angry,' she told New Beauty in 2020.

But she does try the occasional LED mask—in red, white, and blue—since there’s "no downtime."

"I like oxygen facials and I get the Clear + Brilliant laser twice a year," she says. "Doing those treatments really keeps my skin tight and in shape."

She prioritises self-care that boosts her skin.

Kristen takes an inside-out approach to her skin. 'When you’re focused on skin care, I think people miss the steps that affect the skin so much, which is your mental health or your stress,' she told Vogue. So, she tries to stay hydrated, log eight to nine hours of sleep each night, and even meditates.

'[Meditation]… is calming to my skin… because it’s calming to my mind,' she said. 'If I can find 10 minutes once or even twice a week, my whole body, my digestion, my skin, my attitude, it’s all calmer.'

Her beauty routine has changed since becoming a mum.

Kristen has adapted her whole attitude towards makeup and skincare since becoming a mom. (She shares children Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, with husband Dax Shepard.)

'Right now, it’s all about the health of my skin for me,' she told Refinery29 in 2021. 'I didn’t wear makeup during the pandemic at all and I didn’t get out of my sweats, but my skin was loving me for it.'

She's been applying the same relaxed mindset towards her two daughters.

'They have little makeup palettes in their room. Sometimes they come downstairs looking like drag queens. Other times, they don’t have anything on,' she said. 'And we never comment on it because the same reason you would never say, "You shouldn’t wear that purple turtleneck, you don’t need to be wearing that purple turtleneck yet." That has nothing to do with it... painting your face, I kind of look at it the same way. If you feel happier with colours on your face, great! That’s your choice to feel happier. But the language has definitely changed.'
