Frausto started Carpenter's iconic look hours before her glam by prepping her bangs in a roller and letting them sit until it was time to work on the rest of her hair. Then, he cut her hair so it would lay on her shoulders. Frausto then dampened the singer's locks with water and layered in the super lightweight Redken Volume Maximizer from her roots to ends, brushing the spray through her strands with a round brush. To add volume to her look, he blew out her hair, sectioning it in pieces, and then clipping every section into roller clips.
To get those bouncy curls, he also ran through her hair with a curling iron, which offered nice dimension, before spraying in the Redken Dry Texture Spray and brushing out said curls to make everything look softer. And, of course, he had to make sure the look stayed all night, so he finished everything off with the Redken Hairspray.
