Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding day has arrived and here’s everything we’ve learned about the big day this morning.

The guests are starting to arrive

As well as inviting over 2,000 members of the public to join them on their big day, a handful of famous faces have also made the select guest list. So far Idris Elba, James Blunt, Oprah Winfrey and Harry’s ex girlfriend Cressida Bonas have arrived from team celebrity, but the Beckhams, the Clooneys, Serena Williams and many more are all expected imminently.

The royal titles have been revealed

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan will not promise to “obey” her husband

As revealed in the order of service, the 36-year-old has opted to follow in the footsteps of the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Diana and opt to omit the age-old vow from her ceremony. Meghan and Harry have selected words from The Marriage Service from Common Worship (2000).

They will pledge themselves to one another: “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part”.

The marriage service features contemporary language – using the word “you” instead of “thee” and “thou” and offers the most flexibility in the choice of readings and prayers.

Meghan will be referred to as “Rachel” during the wedding service

Rachel is the former actress’ official name – much like “Henry” is Harry’s.

Prince Harry will wear a wedding ring

Unlike his brother William, Harry will wear a wedding ring made from Welsh Gold. Very few men in the monarchy have chosen to wear a wedding ring in the past, including the Duke of Edinburgh.

In contrast to other royal men, the Prince of Wales does wear a wedding band, under a signet ring on the little finger of his left hand.

The Queen Mother began the tradition of royal wedding rings being made from Welsh gold after the precious metal was used to make her wedding band when she married in 1923.

Serena Williams will be attending

The American tennis pro posted on Instagram this morning, confirming that she attending the wedding service later today. Serena is attending alongside a number of former and current stars of US hit show ‘Suits’ which Meghan used to appear in.
